What are the applications of magnetic materials?

Permanent magnetic materials are materials with a wide hysteresis loop, high coercivity, high remanence, and the ability to maintain constant magnetism once magnetised. They are also known as hard magnetic materials. In practice, permanent magnetic materials work in the second quadrant of the demagnetised part of the hysteresis loop after deep magnetic saturation and magnetisation. Commonly used permanent magnetic materials are divided into alnico permanent magnetic alloy, ferrochrome cobalt permanent magnetic alloy, permanent magnetic ferrite, rare earth permanent magnetic materials and composite permanent magnetic materials.
Soft magnetic material (soft magnetic material), with low coercivity and high permeability of the magnetic material. Soft magnetic materials are easy to magnetise and demagnetise, and are widely used in electrical and electronic equipment. The most widely used soft magnetic materials are iron-silicon alloys (silicon steel sheet) and various soft magnetic ferrite.
The use of permanent magnetic materials:
① based on the principle of electromagnetic force are: speakers, microphones, meters, buttons, motors, relays, sensors, switches and so on.
② applications based on the principle of magnetoelectricity are: magnetron and travelling wave tube and other microwave tubes, picture tubes, titanium pumps, microwave ferrite devices, magnetoresistive devices, Hall devices and so on.
③ based on the principle of magnetic applications are: magnetic bearings, mineral processing machines, magnetic separators, magnetic suction cups, magnetic seals, magnetic blackboards, toys, signs, combination locks, photocopiers, thermometers and so on. Other applications are: magnetic therapy, magnetised water, magnetic anaesthesia, etc.
Application of soft magnetic materials:
Mainly used in magnetic antennas, inductors, transformers, magnetic heads, headphones, relays, vibrators, TV deflection yokes, cables, delay lines, sensors, microwave absorbing materials, electromagnets, accelerators, high-frequency accelerating cavities, magnetic field probes, magnetic substrates, magnetic shielding, high-frequency quenching and polymerisation, electromagnetic suction cups, magnetosensitive components (such as magneto-thermal materials as switches), and so on.
